Is your teen able to balance among family time, friendships, academics, and extracurricular activities effectively? Have you found that your teen often procrastinates? Does your teen avoid discussing their future or express fear of the unknown? Teen years can be challenging and overwhelming times filled with many transitions. Even milestones such as getting a drivers license or transitioning to a new school environment can create feelings of stress. Our group will give your teens time and space to learn and explore how to manage their feelings of anxiety through a series of topics utilizing evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques

Does your child have a tough time expressing his emotions or controlling his temper? Is she easily annoyed? Has he lashed out at someone verbally or physically? The tween and teen years can be challenging. To make them a success, some kids need a little help learning how to cope with anger in a safe and healthy way! Through a variety of discussions, activities, roleplays, worksheets, projects, and lessons, your child can improve poor social skills and learn to appropriately manage his anger.

Teens with this family dynamic are at higher risk of having more emotional expression issues, lower ability to adjust to life’s changes, higher rates of depression and anxiety, lower communication and self-advocacy skills, and lower self-esteem. G.L.A.S.S. is a group specifically designed for these teens to help provide concrete skills and support from others who understand this unique sibling experience. Topics covered include: Self-advocating without guilt, coping strategies and skills, increased self-esteem, and healthy boundaries and self-care.

The teenage years are a time of increasing pressure and stress. Young people often find themselves overwhelmed with higher academic workloads, athletics, fine arts, part-time jobs, and social events. The struggle to successfully balance commitments can lead to increased worry, anxiety, frustration, irritability, and depressed mood. This Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Group for high school students is designed to decrease stress by teaching skills for mindfulness, decreased judgment, relaxation, and good self-care.

Late adolescence / early adulthood is a time of increasing pressure and stress. Young people often find themselves overwhelmed with higher academic workloads, athletics, fine arts, part-time jobs, and social events. The struggle to successfully balance commitments can lead to increased worry, anxiety, frustration, irritability, and depressed mood. "Managing Your Time and Managing Your Mind" is a four-week structured group for high school and college students designed to increase productivity and decrease stress by teaching skills for productively focusing time and energy to better balance important obligations and good self-care.

Coping with divorce is difficult for anyone, but especially children. Doesn’t it make sense to arm them with the skills and support needed to make this transition as smooth and positive as possible? Our kids divorce group is for children in families where parents have completed or are in the process of divorce. This group uses fun and engaging activities designed to teach coping skills, decrease anxiety and sadness, enhance self-esteem, and provide support from peers going through the same thing. This children’s divorce group covers why parents marry and divorce, how to deal with changes, adjusting to parents in two houses, feeling angry or guilty, the grieving process, step-parents and step-siblings, understanding legal terms, and achieving acceptance and closure.
