Ashley Lucas, MSW, LCSWA, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds a Master of Social Work from Florida State University . She has experience in working with young children and tweens in providing social emotional education, implementing CBT techniques, and providing person centered therapy. Ashley works with children and young adults to address mental health challenges and neurodivergent conditions, help individals build important life skills, and explore their identities.

Ashley uses Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy techniques to tailor treatment to the client's needs, wants and and their diagnosis. Ashley believes in meeting clients where they are and having them be an active participant in planning their treatment goals.
Ashley values diversity and knowing that each person she works with will be different. She recognizes the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients, and aims to create a safe space for clients to grow and process their lived experiences. Ashley wants to empower clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and facilitating positive change in their lives. Ashley believes in client lead treatment goals guided by theraputic techniques and greatly influenced by the client's needs. She wants to empower clients to learn coping skills, cultivate resilience, and recognize their strengths.
Ashley completed her Masters degree in Social Work at Florida State University. During her time at FSU, Ashley focused on clinical social work. Her studies emphasized individual and group therapy, with a particular focus on person-centered therapy. Throughout her academic journey, Ashley engaged in two internships: one dedicated to supporting justice-involved youth struggling with substance use issues, and the other involving social-emotional learning groups for children aged 3 to 5 within an educational environment.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys watching sports, live music, and trying new foods. You can often find her at Wake Med Soccer Park catching a womens soccer game, or watching a softball game on her TV. She enjoys going to concerts with friends, watching musical theatre, and exploring new music artists. She enjoys cooking, always attempting a new recipe, or going out to try a new restaurant in the triangle area.
