Carley Dixon, MSW, LCSWA earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master’s degree from North Carolina State University. She has experience working with kids, teenagers, young adults, and adults dealing with a wide range of mental health challenges stemming from various issues. She also provides group therapy services for teens and children.

Carley specializes in providing child, teen, adult, and family therapy. She has experience providing therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns. Carley truly believes in meeting people wherever they may find themselves and has extensive experience working with children and families of all backgrounds and walks of life. Carley enjoys incorporating art, music, and play into her work as she feels her experience in youth programs and recreation is instrumental to her practice as a clinician. She believes that each child and family is beautifully unique and wants to tailor her practice to meet their specific needs.

Group Therapy for Kids and Teens, Social Skills Groups and Summer Day Camps, Cary and Raleigh NC

Carley leads social skills groups for children and teens throughout the year as well as week-long social skills day camps in the summer. These groups and camps cover many issues that help kids to develop skills needed to foster healthy relationships and to deal with the challenges of everyday life, including self-control, anger management, ossiping, bullying, shyness, communication, and self-esteem.

Before obtaining her license, Carley spent over a decade working with children, adolescents, and families in various recreation and community mental health settings. Additionally, Carley has experience working in the school system and highly values academics and the school/family relationship. Carley also works at the Duke Children’s Evaluation Center on an interdisciplinary team, providing assessment, diagnostic clarity, and therapy in a pediatric mental and behavioral health setting. Carley has devoted her entire career to children and families and feels that there is so much joy to be found in life – even through difficult circumstances. Carley truly looks forward to meeting each child or family she works with and believes she has been forever shaped by all the amazing people she has met throughout her career.

Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Carley is frequently asked who she cheers for on game day and the answer is…Go Heels! Outside of work, Carley loves spending time with her family and friends – especially her golden retriever, Ellie! She enjoys trips to the beach, mountains, hiking, yoga, college sports, and volunteering in the community. Carley’s favorite weekend activity is finding a new park or hike to enjoy with her golden retriever! She values getting outside and feels most peaceful when she is soaking in the beauty of the outdoors.
