Kaitlyn McCarthy, LCSW-A, is a compassionate therapist with a deep commitment to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. With a master’s degree in social work from North Carolina State University, she uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and person-centered therapy to create a collaborative, supportive space for clients to feel truly heard and empowered.
Kaitlyn works with older children (10+) and teens, supporting them through a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, ADHD, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+, executive functioning struggles, anger management, defiance, eating disorders, substance use, inappropriate sexual behaviors, and grief/loss. Her work extends to supporting parents through coaching and strategies for improving family dynamics and communication.
She is also passionate about supporting women and couples, helping them navigate life transitions, relationship dynamics, identity exploration, grief, anxiety, and depression. Kaitlyn is particularly attuned to the unique challenges women face, offering a space where they can work through issues related to self-esteem, personal growth, and empowerment.
Kaitlyn offers forensic related services, including reunification therapy, and is skilled in providing trauma-informed care. She has extensive experience working with clients impacted by chronic illness, trauma, and significant life challenges, helping them to heal and build resilience.

When she’s not working, Kaitlyn enjoys exploring her creative side through art and crafts, roller skating, and binge-watching comedy TV shows. She’s also a fan of spending time outdoors with her dog, soaking up nature and getting fresh air whenever she can.
