Therapy with Children and Teens
Wynns Family Psychology has always had a passion for helping children and teens. We provide professional, customized, and collaborative therapy for children and teens. We have extensive expertise in conducting therapy such as cognitive behavioral, play therapy, dialectical behavior, and parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) with preschoolers through teenagers. Mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders in childhood can cause long-term problems that may affect the health and well-being of children, families, and communities. Treating a child’s mental health problems as soon as possible can help children reduce problems at home, in school, and in forming healthy relationships. It can also help with healthy development into adulthood. We value partnering with parents, who are experts on their children, in therapy but also provide separate parent coaching when needed. Individual therapy with children can include talking, playing, games, or other activities to help the child express feelings and thoughts. We also use our outdoor space, when appropriate, to allow for play and talking in nature!
